I woke up to another gorgeous 80-degree day and went down to the Colorado Community Media offices to pick up a copy of this week’s Arvada Press. (My photo of last week’s first annual Sustain Arvada Festival made the front page–woot!)
On my way back from the office, I was walking through downtown Golden and saw a man sitting at a table facing Clear Creek. I began to walk past him, but just as I did, I saw him raise a cigarette to his lips in my peripheral vision. If you know anything about me, I have a weakness for photos involving smoke.
As such, I quickly took a few steps back and pretended to gaze out over the bridge while I readied my camera. Scattered rainstorms began to unleash a few drops and when he raised his hand again, I raised my lens. I fired off two frames before he put his hand down again and I was on my way.
